Hallel and No Tahanun for July 4th

An old minhag America was to omit Tahanun and recite Hallel on Thanksgiving Day (see my post here). I could not find a makor for doing similarly on July Fourth, but in a rare sign of unity, all minyanim will in fact be doing so this July Fourth. (Coincidentally, the Fourth coincides with Rosh Hodesh Tammuz this year.) And when you are reciting Hallel, remember to pronounce אנא ה' הושיע נא אנא ה' הצליחה נא correctly (see the end of my post here*).

To read about Israel Fine, an early patriotic Hebraist in Baltimore and one of my favorite American Jews, read my post here.
