I don't understand these new prayers for temporary situations. Also, this little prayer supports Soloveitchik's position that we do not make new prayers anymore. This prayer is weak, and not at all evocative. What is wrong with prayers/tehillim already in existence? What was Sokolow's point in all this?

"this little prayer supports Soloveitchik's position . . ."

"that we do not make new prayers anymore."
"anymore" as of when?
(i little while back i linked to an interesting bibliography by yaari of new mi sheberakhs compsoed through the generations)
"This prayer is weak, and not at all evocative."
i have no idea as i have no sense for literary aesthetics
"What is wrong with prayers/tehillim already in existence?"
i ask the same question in reference to 50% of the siddur. and who did all these פייטנים think they were?
I like this idea of writing a prayer specific to this situation (if "like" carries any weight at all).
It is poetic, touching and beautiful.
