anyway, the rambam has the same teaching, but with a general application and not limited to צדיקים. a blessing is that someone should have a parnasah, then esblish a home, and finally get maried. a curse is someone should first get married, then get a home, and finally have a parnasah.

Not everyone can be on the level of Yaakov Avinu. The Sforno I think makes this point and refers to him as a tzaddik.

How about adding a disclaimer that the Siforno would have written the same thing even had there been foodstamps etc. in Medieval Italy ...
