Mohel for Hire (Russian Speaking)

Looking for a mohel in the New York area?
Avner Yunayev trained as a mohel and shochet at the Shehebar Sephardic Institute in Jerusalem (he is listed here) and has also earned a doctorate of pharmacy from Long Island University.
He can accommodate the needs of families of all backgrounds and he speaks English, Hebrew, Russian and Bukharian.
He is patient, gentle and reasonable.
For references, more information or to set up an appointment, contact him at dr.mohel@gmail.com (and be sure to mention this blog).

I went to school with a guy that became many things, a shochet, a mohel, a dentist, an artist, a magician, a techelet expert (perhaps "the" techelet expert), etc.

Here is a good link to a post about him - http://www.treppenwitz.com/2008/04/feeling-like-a.html

Mark, did that jack of all trades move to Efrat in the late 1980s?

LoZ: just a different size knife.

Not at all. One slices off, or is done as an inside cut, while the other is from the outside, with a sawing motion, and need not completely sever the extremity.

There's a Russian OB-GYN in my shul who wants to learn hilchos milah, so he can convince his non-religious patients to let him do a milah, rather than an in-hospital circumcision at birth, or nothing at all.
