Kosher Chicken on Sale in Brooklyn
I generally try to avoid the kosher groceries, but once in a while they give you a reason to patronize them.
Like today.
The Mrs told me that a store near her work, Buy Right (in Marine Park), has chicken cutlets on sale for $2.99/lb and chicken leg quarters (the larger ones!) for $1.69/lb.
Shabbat Shalom!
Update: Freeze the chicken and remember that this week we eat tongue (click here).

A bit far for me to make it back home and prepare for Shabbat. Haval. My wife charged me with making chicken for Shabbat today...

We had the chicken cutlets from BuyRite for Shabbat dinner!
I always shop there. They're nice people, and the prices are fair.
Hey Ari, we're lucky we even get chicken out here! Some of the hevra made a meat run to Denver this Shabbat, but too late for the tongue.
Thanks for that info about Silberman. It is reported that Rav Kook kept a Horev small Shas on his writing desk. He davka used Horev because there were no questions of infringement concerning publisher's rights. Maybe that was the same Shas that R. Silberman published?
Later, when the family behind the Koren tanach made aliya, he supported their publication for similar reasons.

Halilah v'has! There is no way I'm encouraging someone to stay in Brooklyn. I don't even go there to visit. Of course, rather than Santa Fe, I'd say move to Tzfat or Kiryat Shemonah. ;-) You want a big city? Haifa or Tel Aviv.
Here in the HolyLand (Binyamin/Shomron) the local Rami Levi (discount supermarket chain) has a Wed. special on chicken to bring in the pre-Shabbat customers early. The special low price is only on Wed, and there are certain conditions and limits on how much you can buy.

Carry the bags home? They deliver- as does almost every other kosher supermarket in Brooklyn.
